Yet it is still about the same loudness as my other acoustics. This makes it easier to transport and hold, but changes the sound. The top face of this guitar is roughly the same size as my other acoustics, but the sides are an entire inch shorter. The sound it makes when unplugged is very unique. But with guitars, sound is most important. It looks amazing hanging on the wall with my other guitars. The mahogany body and the skulls on fretboard are awesome. I bought this guitar from Musicians Friend almost two years ago. The hellcat and skull inlays are not for everyone. The last reason that will either draw you to the guitar or push you away is the aesthetic. I like it… fun, easy to play and very portable. You will either love or hate the small body. To me this is a very bluesy, folk sounding guitar. If you're looking for more of a bell-like tone, this is NOT the guitar for you. With all mahogany this guitar has a very warm tone. The nut and saddle are plastic, and over time maybe I will upgrade. The fretboard and saddle are walnut, but that doesn't bother me in the least nor does it effect the sound.
